USA Cycling Communications

Here is the communique from USA Cycling regarding the European trip...

  • Another group of junior riders will be making the trip across the Atlantic to tackle a series of races from the home base of Izegem, Belgium next week. These races will include the Ronde van Antwerpen from August 9-12 as well as a few one-day local races and several track races. Joseph Kukolla (Indianapolis, Ind./Nova Cycle Sports), Robert Bush (Louisville, Ky./KY Flyers-Texas Roadhouse), Brett Jacoby (Wind Gap, Pa./Gotham Cyclists), JP LeClair (Moraga, Calif./Adobe Schwalbe-Lomabrdi Sports), Iggy Silva (San Diego, Calif./Rock Racing) and Joseph Rosskopf (Decatur, Ga./Aarons-L5 Flyers) are among the youngsters expected to make the trip.

I just got word from Iggy and he finished 62nd in his first race at Ginzel Belgium on the cobbles. Only 85 finished. Second day in the kirmesse race he was in a 8 man break from the beginning and ended up finishing 6th. He aslo mentioned that he won 48 euros which is about $60.00 dollars U.S. Son,I'm so proud of you keep up the great work. I would also like to thank the Bushes and Mr. Ben Sharp for keeping us posted. And to all you guys who were selected to go, congratulations you should all be proud of yourselves I know that we are. Keep up the great work and don't forget to thank U.S.A cycling,the coaches,your parents,and most of all give God thanks for what he is doing for all of you guys out there.
